Kitchen The Pool and Garden The Lounge Some comments from our guest book: October 2009 "Had a great time thanks but managed to put 5 pounds on in a week as the food and wine was just too good to miss. Lovely house in an idyllic, quiet spot, and you could look at the milky way at night whilst sipping a glass of great Bordeaux. Paradise." T, J, C & V. T Glasgow Scotland September 2009 "What a tranquil spot! We had such a relaxing time here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All the little extras made for an easy time to just get on and relax. Such peaceful walks and rides on the bikes, watching the grape harvest was such fun! Great to dive in the pool after our exercise, it always capped a wonderful day; weather was fantastic, we shall definitely come again - and at this time of year!" P & J M - Cheshire. "Totally agree the "extras" here are great and its a house not a rental villa, with the equipment in the kitchen outstanding, better than my house! the pool is great, very warm in the mornings. Hannah learnt to ride on the small bike, a first without stabilisers, so thanks very much!" The R family Bristol. August 2009 "We so loved your house. Felt at home almost straight away. It was all so perfect, you even did some food shopping for us which was so appreciated. The welcome was perfect, fresh flowers and wine. Fabulous that you had Sky TV! Having the 4 children means you don't get out as much as you'd like, so it really was a home from home, so comfortable with everything we needed. The children were catered for very well too, all of my boys just loved it here and your fabulous swimming pool was the focus of our holiday. They preferred it to the gorgeous beaches on offer! We had many table tennis tournaments during our visit too! It is such a relaxing environment, great climate and the locals are super friendly. All in all we loved our holiday, and hope to come back very soon. This has to be one of the best holidays we've had. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to all my family and friends." K,M,T,D,F & J, Cookham Dean, Berkshire. "Really lovely old house, with an ideal setting near both St R. & St Thomas de Conac. Brilliant views of the Estuary and of the various vineyards that lay around. Top Temperature of 37˚C made a brilliant change from the gloom of England & was well received by all the family! With the pool added in, it truly made for an unforgettable experience! (especially for Ed. , who came off worse for wear with the rays!) Fantastic beaches all around, both close and further afield, in the case of the Côte Sauvage - well worth a trip. Overall exceptional! P. J. O. & E. T. Portsmouth. July 2009 "Wonderful home with everything you could ask for! Beautiful area and Talmont a definite must with lovely restaurants and shops. Meschers and the caves is also very good. A.M. Buckinghamshire. June 2009 "We have had a great, relaxing holiday here in Le Petit Manoir. The house is lovely, and pool and table tennis well used by all of us - not just the boys! Highlights of our stay included days out to Royan (lovely town), exploring the Medoc (ferry from Blaye to Lamarque) and surfing at the Atlantic beaches. Also had a lovely lunch at the nature reserve at Vitrezay. We have been very lucky with the weather, it has been very warm and mostly sunny just about every day. Thank you, Janet, for letting us stay in your lovely house. We have had a super holiday! F.D.F. & C. A., Helensburgh September 2008 "Many thanks for allowing us to stay in your lovely house. The added extras (flowers, wine & beer, washing up liquid etc) were greatly appreciated...... we enjoyed the lovely garden and the table tennis in the barn. Many thanks also for your invaluable "Blue Book" which we used when looking for restaurants in the local area. All in all we had a lovely, relaxing stay at Le Petit Manoir & will be recommending it to our friends" Alex & Will. Windsor, Berks. August 2008 "A wonderful location for a great house, very welcoming, comfortable with everything you need plus a few little extras! We were incredibly lucky with the weather so the pool had constant use. A great base for exploring vineyards and buying the wine! Janet and Dieh have been great, very kind and helpful. Thanks for having a lovely house for us to use." Colleen, John and Catherine A. Oxfordshire July 2008 "Like others who have written in this book, we have really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. The access to bikes + pool was a real advantage. We were lucky enough enough to be here for the Bastille Day fireworks display, on Royan Beach, which was fantastic! Many Thanks etc." Rosalind, Richard, Jeremy, Timothy + Jessica. Aberdeen June 2008 "What a beautiful house! We are really delighted to have spent time here. The walks through the countryside were really memorable. The daily "honk" - (bread van) took us back in time, in Ireland, when time in rural areas moved slowly and daily visits such as these mattered. It was great to step back, reflect and relax. H, E, J, K & C D. Dublin May 2008 "Lovely house and area, friendly locals, wonderful walking, cycle if you can. D, P, London A, S and co Cheshire "Thank you so much for our week spent in this idyllic house. Our two boys have had an absolute ball in the pool & garden. They thoroughly enjoyed the swimming at Les Antilles, Jonzac & also the zoo at La Palmyre. I would also like to echo the sentiments of your previous guests. The added extras were all very much appreciated, wine beer, flowers, loo rolls, kitchen towel, washing up liquid etc. etc. The list goes on. Really makes a difference. Thank you we will definitely be back." L, S, M +O September 2007 "Thank you for a perfect holiday house and location. The Petit Manoir has everything you need to relax and stay in comfort. The nice touches throughout reflected a good eye for detail and kindness in providing essentials needed when first arriving i.e. the pint of milk etc! We had a truly relaxing time, in a beautiful spot in the French countryside, with perfect weather. Many thanks." S & N K. Crewe Cheshire. Everything about this place is just a little bit better than we had expected. The pool is really big and so pristine & inviting. The house has so many original features and yet is so well adapted to modern living. Everything works! What a joy to be able to shower after shower with oodles of hot water! On top of this, such a perfect location: plenty of garden grounds for the kids to run safely wild, lots of nature study courtesy of the neighbouring wood and easy access to pretty villages among vineyards and sunflowers!
